STEEL DRUM

A steel drum, also known as a metal drum or steel barrel, is a cylindrical container made from high-quality steel, designed for the storage and transportation of liquids and granular solids. These drums are widely used across various industries due to their durability, strength, and versatility.

Steel drums are typically constructed from either carbon steel or stainless steel. Carbon steel drums are commonly used for transporting and storing chemicals, oils, fuels, and other non-corrosive substances. Stainless steel drums, on the other hand, are preferred for handling food products, pharmaceuticals, and corrosive chemicals due to their superior resistance to rust and contamination.

The design of a standard steel drum includes a capacity of 55 gallons (approximately 208 liters), though other sizes are available to meet specific needs. These drums feature a tight-sealing lid, often with a locking ring, to ensure secure containment of contents and prevent leakage. Some models are designed with removable lids for easy access, while others have a fixed top with bung holes for dispensing liquids.
